The SEC Food team had a requirement to further increase their food production & distribution capabilities across the Scottish Event Campus restaurants, cafes & conference suites to collectively support providing meals for thousands of World Leaders, VIP’s, delegates, journalists & staff during the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference that took place during 31st October – 12th November 2021.

The temporary facilities included two Magnum Kitchen’s, one Mini Kitchen & multiple Dry and Cold walk-in storage rooms. These facilities provided the SEC Food team with much increased cooking & food storage capacity.

The catering equipment that Portable Kitchens provided for the event included upright & undercounter fridge/freezers, 10/20 grid combi ovens, chip scuttles, fryers, hot/ambient serveries, salamander grills and a pasta cooker. This equipment was spread out across the entire campus at a numbers of different kitchens, halls and temporary marquees.

Mark Matthews, Commercial Director at Portable Kitchens, explained: “This was quite a complex build over several locations within the campus. It was a pleasure to partner SEC Food on this venture to deliver quality sustainable food to world leaders and delegates.”
