KitchenPod at Whitemoor School

Whitemoor School in Nottingham required a large, permanent kitchen facility to provide hot meals to pupils and staff. With a tight budget, and without the possibility of undertaking major building work, Nottingham City Council needed a cost effective kitchen solution.

The solution was one of PKL’s first multi-unit open-plan KitchenPods. It involved creating a large open-plan kitchen by using several KitchenPod units joined together, which made a spacious, well-equipped kitchen area capable of providing meals to the whole school. Installed in the summer holidays the KitchenPod was ready for use by the first day of term.

“As a school we are delighted with our KitchenPod! The improved quality of the dinners now served and consumed on site has transformed our lunch hour. We were impressed that such a huge installation was carried out with such expertise and professionalism,” says Headteacher Julie O’Leary.
